Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow the website to remember information about your visit — for example, whether you have already agreed to the site's cookie policy, or what language you prefer.
Cookies do not give us access to your computer and do not contain personal information beyond what you choose to share with us. Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can usually modify your browser settings to decline them if you prefer — though this may affect how some parts of the website work.
2. Cookie Types We Use
Essential Cookies
These are necessary for the website to function. They cannot be switched off. They are usually set in response to your actions on the site, such as setting your privacy preferences or navigating between pages.
- Cookie consent preference (stored in localStorage — not a traditional cookie but serves the same purpose).
- Session security tokens to protect form submissions.
Analytics Cookies
These help us understand how visitors interact with the website by collecting anonymised data about pages visited and time spent. We use this to improve the site over time.
- Google Analytics — page views, sessions, approximate location (country-level), device type.
- Retained for up to 14 months at the individual session level; aggregated data retained for 26 months.
Marketing Cookies
These are used to measure the effectiveness of any marketing or advertising activity Brindolo may run. They do not enable us to target you with advertising on other platforms without your explicit consent.
- Ad platform conversion tracking (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads) — active only if marketing activity is running.
- Bing Ads UET tag — for measuring campaign effectiveness.
Preference Cookies
These remember your settings between visits, so you do not have to re-enter preferences each time you return.
- Language and regional format preferences.
- Any display settings you have configured on the site.
3. Third-Party Cookies
Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages. We do not control these cookies. The main third-party services that may set cookies on our site:
- Google Analytics — usage data. Google Privacy Policy
- Google Ads — conversion tracking for advertising campaigns. Activated only when campaigns are live.
- Facebook (Meta) Pixel — event tracking for advertising. Activated only when campaigns are live.
- Microsoft (Bing) Ads — conversion and audience tracking.
We do not share personal data with social media platforms except through these tracking tools, and only when marketing activity is active. You can opt out of third-party analytics at any time using the controls below.
4. Cookie Duration
- Session cookies — deleted automatically when you close your browser. Used for security tokens and temporary state.
- Persistent cookies (short) — expire within 30 days. Used for preference and consent settings.
- Persistent cookies (analytics) — typically expire after 12–26 months. Set by Google Analytics and similar services.
- Marketing cookies — typically expire after 30–90 days depending on the platform.
5. Your Cookie Preferences
Use the controls below to set your preferences. Essential cookies cannot be disabled. Your choices will be saved and applied on the Brindolo website.
